Chronology 

 

1929 Born, Canton, China 

1936 Mr. Don was apprenticed to a Saigon portrait studio as a seven-year-old child where he learned the basics of photography.

1950 He attended Vietnam University College of Art and began to teach the art and science of photography at age 21. 

1979 He fled by boat and came as a refugee to the United States where he resides completely within a Chinese community.
